New Delhi, September 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked his 75th birthday today with a series of public welfare and infrastructure announcements, combining symbolism with governance initiatives.
The Prime Minister launched the āSwasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyanā from Madhya Pradeshās Dhar district, a tribal region chosen to highlight the governmentās focus on womenās health and empowerment. The campaign aims to strengthen maternal and child health services, linking womenās well-being directly to family development.
In addition, Modi inaugurated development projects worth ā¹111 crore in his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi, including improvements in drainage, sewage treatment, and public health facilities. He also announced ā¹3,000 crore worth of infrastructure upgrades in Delhi, focusing on urban housing, sanitation, and road development.
The day also marked the beginning of āSeva Pakhwadaā, a 15-day nationwide campaign of public service activities that will continue until October 2, Gandhi Jayanti. Party workers and volunteers will carry out activities ranging from blood donation drives and tree plantations to cleanliness campaigns across states.
Speaking on the occasion, Modi reiterated that birthdays should be āoccasions of service, not celebration.ā He urged citizens to contribute to community welfare and emphasized the governmentās commitment to inclusive development.
