Delhi Traffic Police have implemented extensive traffic restrictions across the capital as the city celebrates Dussehra on October 2, 2025, with major route diversions expected from 3:00 PM to midnight. The comprehensive advisory covers all major celebration zones including Red Fort, Ramlila Maidan, Subhash Park, and residential areas in Pitampura, Janakpuri, Dwarka and Rohini where large-scale Ramlila events are being organized.
Traffic movement will remain heavily restricted on Netaji Subhash Marg from Delhi Gate to Chatta Rail Chowk, with commercial vehicles and DTC buses being diverted from Delhi Gate Chowk, Daryaganj, and Chhatta Rail Chowk. Private vehicles may face redirections from critical junctions including T-Point Subhash Marg, Delhi Gate, Shanti Van Chowk, and GPO Chowk to manage expected heavy congestion.
The southern Delhi areas will experience maximum disruption on Outer Ring Road from Panchsheel to Greater Kailash, Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, JB Tito Marg, and CR Park Main Road. Alternative routes suggested include MG Road, Aurobindo Marg, Mathura Road, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, and Mehrauli-Badarpur Road.
Delhi Police have deployed paramilitary forces, drone surveillance, CCTV monitoring, and PCR vans at all major venues. Special parking arrangements have been made at Madhav Das Park, Tikona Park, Sunehri Masjid, Parade Ground, and Church Mission Road. Authorities strongly advise using Metro services, with Lal Quila and Jama Masjid stations providing nearest access to Red Fort celebrations.
