Mangaluru, Karnataka — In a significant public address during the 13th annual “Ashoka-Janamana” Deepavali celebration at Kombettu Taluk Stadium in Puttur, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah reaffirmed his government’s commitment to expanding healthcare infrastructure and promoting communal harmony across the state.
Speaking to a large gathering on Monday, Siddaramaiah highlighted that the government has firmly decided to establish a full government medical college with associated hospital facilities in Puttur — a move seen as a milestone for Dakshina Kannada district. “There should be no doubt about it,” the Chief Minister declared.
He underscored the state’s welfare-oriented agenda by referencing flagship schemes such as Anna Bhagya (food security) and the Shakti scheme (free travel for women), positioning them as elements of a broader vision for social justice and inclusivity.
“Our mission is to build a society where caste and religious differences are minimised,” Siddaramaiah said, invoking the ideals of Basavanna and other social reformers.
